"Our Living Hope"

Scripture to follow:
1 Peter 1:3Genesis 1:261 Corinthians 13:13Jeremiah 29:11
Our living Hope. In 1 Peter 1:3 we are given a significant description of the hope that comes with the gospel. Living. In his writings Peter seeks to remind us of the incorruptible inheritance that is solidified through our faith in Jesus Christ. He points to Jesus’ sacrifice as a living and present hope because it makes eternal His victory over death. This is why we call the gospel, the story of Jesus’ sacrifice for our redemption, good news. It is the truth that underscores the hope we have in God's enduring commitment to us. In Genesis 1:26 we read “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness…” signifying the trinity’s presence at the beginning of time. The hope embedded in this statement is that God in His entirety was for us. Jesus personified hope when He came to earth and lived as God in human form showing God was with us. Following His resurrection and ascension to the right Hand of the Father, The Holy Spirit was left behind as a direct link within all believers to God-a living hope that resides in us. Our ultimate hope rests in everlasting life through Jesus Christ. Despite the trials we face in this world, we cling to the promise of eternity spent in His presence. Yet, in the midst of life's challenges, it's easy to lose sight of this hope. Perhaps this is why we see such emphasis placed on faith, hope, and love together in our leading verse for this month. 1 Corinthians 13:13 We can look at these three as backbone characteristics of the gospel. Just as the Trinity is inseparable, so too are these qualities. Because God Himself is love, we can have faith in Him, because we have faith, we always have a reason to hope. God's plans for us are filled with hope and a future, even when we cannot see or understand them. Jeremiah 29:11 Each discomfort and delay we face is a temporary trial acting as an opportunity for growth; refining us into vessels of His grace. We don’t have to know His plans and we don’t have to come equipped to handle all He will bring us to or allow us to encounter. Our role is not to navigate life's uncertainties alone but to trust in God's provision and guidance. We just have to come with a willingness and steadfast belief that He will see us through for His glory and our good. The world is uncertain, and that likely will not change. In fact one of few things we can be certain of is we do not know what is around the corner. But our greatest certainty is knowing the One seeing us through. He is the same One who holds the victory. So, beloved, if life’s uncertainties catch you off guard or make you weary this week, hold fast to the Living Hope, for it will sustain you through every trial. Empty your hands and hold them up to the Father. Allow Him to fill them with His promises, then step forward bold and assured.
